Learn About Pressure Transducers & Pressure Transmitters
A pressure transducer converts an applied pressure into an electrical analog output signal that is both linear and proportional to the applied pressure to the transducer. Pressure sensor, pressure transducer, and pressure transmitter are commonly referred to as just pressure transducers. The output electrical signal from a pressure transducer is sent to computers, PLC's, chart recorders, digital panel meters or other devices that interpret this signal and use it to display, record, and/or change the pressure in the system being monitored.
Although, technically a pressure transmitter and a pressure transducer are different, many users refer to each type interchangeably and we often do the same here at Pressureworx. Both convert an applied pressure into an electrical signal. This signal is sent to computers, PLC's, chart recorders, digital panel meters or other devices that interpret this signal and use it to display, record, and/or change the pressure in the system being monitored.
